Ronda Sant Antoni

Major remodelling of a 138 m2 apartment in El Raval, Barcelona.

The customer wanted the French country/Provence style in their home with its atmosphere of ease, comfort and versatility. Rustic décor makes the place feel warm and very cozy.

We kept elements of the original construction, such as the vaulted Boveda ceilings, which were exposed when we removed the suspended ceilings. This is a traditional element of Catalan modernist design, which adds a relaxed rustic feel to the place.
We polished and recovered the original cement tile floor, and restored the chimney, built in 1936.
Other works included: electrical wiring and plumbing, installation of air conditioner with heat pump. We also restored exterior carpentry and procured new solid wood interior doors.

With structural reinforcements, we were able to modify the layout of the apartment and treated the cracks in the walls that had appeared over time. We added underfloor heating to the cement tiles. The final stage of the project included procurement of tailor-made furniture and home appliances.
